I have a theory and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Since everything in this world is compromised of the same thing.. energy.. then it's safe to assume that spells are constructed in the same fashion. So, in theory, we should be able to transfigure a spell into something else, correct?

I know it's far fetched, but I think it's possible.

And so it begins. The time during the year that we reteach our students everything they forgot over Winter Break.

I'm starting to think that sweets wipe things from your mind. The amount of lessons my students have forgotten is astounding. My third years have just left the classroom and, Merlin, it was like I had a class of first years in here. Half of them couldn't manage to turn a pencil box into a jumper.

Still, it's good to be back.

For the first time in years I'll have someone to kiss at midnight. It's a small thing, really, but quite possibly the best thing as well.

I've never been one for resolutions, but I think I'll make one this year. I resolve to spend as much time as possible with my fiancee and daughter Ally.

I do not want to be in this house today. For the first time since moving in with Stephen I feel unwelcomed here. In my own home. It's Christmas Eve and I should be cheerful and merry, but I'm not. Instead I'm sitting in my office where I've been since breakfast and holding my breath each time I think I hear a new noise.

Tomorrow is Christmas. My first Christmas with Stephen. Thankfully we have enough rooms that he hasn't gone peeking into the room with his gift. Merlin, he was hard to shop for. But I hope that a visit from Anthony and the pool table will be enough to make him smile. He deserves a happy Christmas, no matter what I have to do to give him one.

It's so hard not to think of my father today. Christmas was his favourite holiday and he's still locked away in Azkaban. I recieved word from the Ministry that his trial will start on January 10th. I don't believe for a moment that he'll be let go. I'm not sure if I should go or not. I don't know if I could pretend to hate him if I was in the same room.

I miss him. So much.

But no time for unhappy thoughts. Ally wants to make more snowflakes and I have a few gifts for everyone's stockings left to make.

Well, apparently I'm not allowed to get pregnant or disrupt my students' studies for my wedding. And I so been looking forward to both.

Also.. I've finally achieved the next step in research. It's taken much longer than I would have liked, but the progress is better than I had hoped.

I've found the perfect place. It's a ski chalet in Switzerland. I've rented it for two nights on the 20th and the 21st. Everything you'll need will be there.
